Welcome to Runvia, a running and fitness tracker for iPhone and Apple Watch with optional social features. These terms explain the rules for using Runvia. Please read them — they are short.
"Runvia", "we" and "us" mean the Runvia developer, Yağız Ada Umur, an individual developer based in Türkiye. "You" means you, the person using the app.
By downloading or using Runvia you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
1. Apple's license agreement comes first
You get Runvia from Apple's App Store, so Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement ("Apple's EULA") and the Apple Media Services Terms apply to your use of the app. These Runvia terms add to Apple's EULA. If they conflict on the license to use the app, Apple's EULA wins.
Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for Runvia, its content, support or any claims about it; those are ours, as described here and in Apple's EULA.
2. Who can use Runvia
- You may use Runvia's tracking features at any age allowed by Runvia's App Store age rating. Tracking works fully without Runvia Social.
- Runvia Social requires you to be at least 13 years old, or older if the law in your country sets a higher minimum age for using online services without a parent's consent. When you join Social, the app asks you to confirm this together with these community rules. Where the law requires it, the app also asks Apple for your age range (see the Privacy Policy, section 14).
- If you are under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), please review these terms with a parent or guardian.
3. Your license to use Runvia
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Runvia on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by Apple's EULA. You may not:
- copy, modify, resell or redistribute the app;
- reverse-engineer it, except where the law allows this despite this restriction;
- use a modified app, scripts or automated tools to access Runvia Social, collect other people's data, or get around limits, blocks or moderation;
- interfere with the service or with other people's use of it.
4. Free features and Runvia Pro
Runvia's core features — recording workouts, your history, Apple Health, Apple Watch, exports and Runvia Social — are free. Runvia Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription that unlocks extra features, as described in the app.
Buying and billing
- Runvia Pro is sold by Apple. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. We never see your payment details.
- Prices, periods (for example monthly or yearly) and any free trial are shown in the app before you subscribe, in your currency, as provided by the App Store.
Free trial
- If a free trial is offered and you are eligible, the app shows its length and the date of the first charge. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you are charged automatically. If you buy a subscription during a free trial, any unused part of the trial ends.
Auto-renewal and cancelling
- Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, and your Apple Account is charged within 24 hours before the period ends, unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your device's Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions, or from Settings › Runvia Pro in the app. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for.
- Deleting the app or your Runvia account does not cancel a subscription. Please cancel it with Apple.
Refunds, restores and price changes
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies; you can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue refunds ourselves.
- Use Restore Purchases in the app to get Pro back on a new device with the same Apple Account.
- If the price changes, Apple will tell you in advance and, where required, ask for your consent.
5. Runvia Social and community rules
Runvia Social is optional. It uses your iCloud account and lets you create a public profile, post workouts, follow people, cheer and comment, join crews and take part in quests.
Everything in Social is public. Your profile, posts, comments, cheers, follows, crews and quest entries can be seen by anyone who uses Runvia. Post only what you are happy to share. When you join Runvia Social, you will be asked to accept these community rules in the app, and again before your next post or comment if they change.
Zero tolerance
Runvia has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. You must not post or send anything that:
- harasses, bullies, threatens or intimidates anyone;
- is hateful or discriminates against people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age or any similar characteristic;
- is sexual, pornographic or sexually suggestive, or exploits or endangers children in any way;
- is violent, encourages self-harm, or promotes dangerous or illegal activities;
- is spam, advertising, scams or misleading;
- impersonates another person or organisation, or misrepresents who you are;
- shares another person's private information (such as where they live) without their consent;
- infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights;
- is otherwise illegal.
You also must not post fake or manipulated workouts to cheat the standings or quests.
What happens if someone breaks the rules
- Reports. Any post, comment, profile or crew can be reported from its ⋯ menu. Our moderators review reports within 24 hours.
- Reporting illegal content without the app. Anyone, including people who don't use Runvia, can report illegal content by email (section 18). Please include where the content is (the @username and the post, comment or crew), why you believe it is illegal, your name and email address, and a statement that you believe your report is accurate and complete. We confirm that we received it and tell you what we decided.
- How moderation works. The text filter below is automatic. Every other decision — hiding content, suspending or banning an account — is made by a person, never by an algorithm.
- Removal and bans. Content that breaks these rules is removed, and users who post it are suspended or permanently banned from Runvia Social. We may do this without warning, especially for serious or repeated violations. Removed content disappears for everyone, including its author. A suspended user sees in the app that their account is suspended; you can email us to ask for the reason.
- Blocking. You can block any user. They then disappear from your feed and lists and can no longer follow, react to or comment on your content, and their comments and cheers on your posts are hidden for everyone. Because posts are public, they can still view your public posts.
- Text filter. Runvia automatically checks names, bios, titles, captions, comments and crew texts for offensive words and rejects links, email addresses and phone numbers. The filter is not perfect; please report anything it misses.
- Illegal content may be reported to the authorities where the law requires it, and we report content that suggests a threat to someone's life or safety.
- Appeals. If you think we made a mistake, email us within 6 months of the decision and a person will look at it again.
- Points of contact. Users and authorities, including under the EU Digital Services Act, can reach us at the email address in section 18, in English or Turkish.
We are not obliged to monitor all content, and we are not responsible for content other users post — but we act on reports and take this seriously.
6. Your content
- You own what you create — your workouts, posts, comments, photos and other content.
- You are responsible for it. Only post content you have the right to share.
- So that Runvia Social can work, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, copy, display and distribute the content you post, only to run Runvia Social (for example, to show your posts to other users and to moderate them). This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies kept as described in the Privacy Policy (for example, in reports about content).
- Social data is stored in Apple's iCloud. We do not sell your content or use it for advertising.
You can delete your posts, your social profile or your whole account at any time in the app (see the Privacy Policy for what is deleted and what may remain).
If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them to improve Runvia without owing you anything for them.
7. Health and safety
Not medical advice
Runvia is a fitness app for general fitness and wellness only. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat or prevent any disease or condition. Heart-rate figures, heart-rate zones, calories, training trends and other information in the app are for general information only and are not medical advice.
Talk to a doctor before starting a new exercise programme, especially if you have a medical condition, are pregnant, or have not exercised in a while. Stop exercising and get medical help if you feel pain, dizziness, shortness of breath or feel unwell.
Stay safe while you exercise
- Pay attention to your surroundings, traffic and other people. Obey traffic laws.
- Don't look at or operate your phone or watch while cycling or in any situation where it is unsafe. Spoken cues and the watch are there so you can keep your eyes on the road.
- Keep the volume of spoken cues and music low enough to hear traffic and people around you.
- Never use Runvia while driving a vehicle.
- Consider the weather, light, terrain and your own fitness, and carry what you need (water, identification, a light).
- Runvia is not a safety or emergency device. It cannot call for help or tell anyone where you are. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
- Be careful about what your public posts reveal. Runvia hides the start and finish of routes and your privacy zones, but a public route still shows where you exercise.
You exercise at your own risk and are responsible for your own safety.
8. Accuracy
Runvia does its best, but its numbers are measurements and estimates, not guarantees:
- GPS can be inaccurate in cities, under trees, in tunnels or when the signal is weak, which affects distance, pace, route and elevation.
- Sensor data (steps, treadmill distance, barometer elevation, heart rate from your watch or other devices) depends on your device and how you wear it.
- Calories are estimates based on your activity and the body details you provide.
- Weather comes from Apple Weather and may differ from conditions where you are.
- Standings and quests are calculated from workouts people post. Results that look implausible may be marked as unverified or left out, but we cannot check every workout.
Don't rely on Runvia for anything where accuracy is critical, such as safety decisions or official race timing.
9. Apple services
Runvia relies on Apple services — iCloud (CloudKit), Apple Health, Apple Maps, Apple Weather and the App Store. Your use of those services is also governed by Apple's terms and privacy policy. Runvia Social needs an iCloud account and an internet connection, and it may be unavailable when Apple's services are. Maps and weather data are provided by Apple and its data providers, as credited in the app.
10. Intellectual property
The Runvia app, name, logo, design and the content we create are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. Apple, Apple Watch, Apple Health, Apple Maps, Apple Weather and iCloud are trademarks of Apple Inc. Third-party materials used in the app (such as word lists for the text filter and fonts) are credited under Settings › About › Acknowledgements.
Copyright complaints. If you think content in Runvia infringes your copyright or other rights, email us (section 18) with: your name and contact details; the work you own; where the content is in Runvia (the @username and the post, comment, profile or crew); a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised; and a statement that your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or allowed to act for them. We remove infringing content and ban users who repeatedly infringe. If your content was removed by mistake, you can email us to dispute it.
11. Ending your use
- You can stop using Runvia at any time, and delete your social profile or your whole account in the app. Your profile, posts, comments, cheers, follows, the crews you own, your crew memberships and quest entries are deleted; reports about content keep a short excerpt of the reported text until 90 days after they are resolved (see the Privacy Policy). Remember to cancel any subscription with Apple.
- We may suspend or end your access to Runvia Social if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect other users. Suspension from Social does not affect your workouts on your device or a Pro subscription; if you no longer want Pro, cancel it with Apple.
- We may change, add or remove features, or stop offering Runvia, but core tracking stays free for as long as Runvia is offered. If we stop offering Runvia Pro, we will stop renewals through Apple.
12. Disclaimers
We work hard to make Runvia reliable, but the app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we do not promise that Runvia will always be available, error-free or accurate, or that data will never be lost — please keep your own exports of anything important.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by contract under the law of the country where you live.
13. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost data, or for injuries or damage that result from exercising, from relying on information in the app, or from content posted by other users. Our total liability to you for any claim related to Runvia is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Runvia Pro in the 12 months before the claim or 50 US dollars (or the same amount in your currency).
These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for gross negligence or intent, or for fraud.
14. Responsibility for your content and conduct
To the extent the law where you live allows, you agree to cover our reasonable costs and losses (including reasonable legal fees) if someone makes a claim against us because of content you posted on Runvia Social or because you broke these terms. This does not apply to the extent the claim was caused by us, and it does not take away any right you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by contract.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The new version will be posted on this page and in the app with a new effective date. If we change the community rules for Runvia Social, the app will ask you to accept them again before you post. If you keep using Runvia after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.
16. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, and disputes will be handled by the courts and enforcement offices of Çanakkale, Türkiye. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, or your right to bring a claim in your local courts or consumer bodies (in Türkiye, the consumer arbitration committees and consumer courts).
Please contact us first; most problems can be solved by email.
17. General
- These terms, the Privacy Policy and Apple's EULA are the whole agreement between you and us about Runvia.
- If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies.
- If we don't enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up.
- You may not transfer your rights under these terms to someone else. We may transfer ours to someone who takes over Runvia, as long as your rights are not reduced.
- If these terms are ever translated, the English version applies where they differ, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.
